School Night For Astronomy POSTPONED

EVENT POSTPONED! The Astronomical Society of East Texas will present an astronomical viewing at the Mineola Nature Preserve on Sat., March 18, 2017. This is open to the public and is especially for all public, private and home school students and their parents. The program will begin about 5:00pm with solar viewing until sunset. Celestial viewing will follow at 7:30 pm. The event will conclude by 11:00pm. This is a weather permitting event. In the event of rain or clouds, the event will be cancelled. An announcement of cancellation will be broadcast on KMOO 99.9 FM Radio at 4pm or on the society website: www.asetexas.org or on our facebook page. Dress properly for the weather conditions. Be prepared for Mosquitoes- long pants, long sleeves. NO SPRAY INSECT REPELLENT!

  1. In any outdoor event, don't be surprised that the mosquito is never far behind. They are indeed flying parasites that never lets up. Through the years, we've learned of malaria, dengue and the Zika virus as mosquito-borne. No wonder that mosquito repellents are a must.
