  1. With the aid of Jonathan and Diane Kavanough and Don Kilfoyle, we had beautiful skies to show almost 35 school student what the heavens look like at night at the Nature Preserve through telescopes. We had students from Lindale, Mineola, Quitman and one from Winnsboro along with several home schools students. We even had one student from Lindale complete his Astronomy merit badge for Boys Scouts. Don Kilfoyle brought his new 12" Dodsonian telescope. The early attenders even got to look at the Sun through a telescope that was equiped with a Sun filter. They also saw half-a-dozen Sunspots which is rare these days.
