Public Viewing Session - SFA Observatory

There will be a public viewing session on Friday, September 26th at 8:00pm (weather permitting).

These viewing sessions are intended for visitors of all ages and are free of charge. Since these are outdoor events, poor weather conditions may force a cancellation. Check this site again a 2 hours before the tour to make sure that the tour has not been canceled due to poor weather. SFA SPS students will operate the telescopes and show visitors stars, clusters, nebulae, double stars, and perhaps a planet.  Here are driving directions to the SFA Observatory.  For more updates, you can like the SFA Observatory on Facebook.

There are also planetarium shows on the main SFA campus on Friday nights at 7:00PM.  Admission for planetarium shows is $2/person.

Today is the first day of fall – also known as the Autumnal Equinox.  Let’s hope for cooler weather this Friday…

Clear skies!
